Second Annual Pershing Campus Clean-Up THIS SATURDAY (April 13), 8 - 11 AM!

Hello All Pershing Parents:  

The Pershing POPS will be hosting a Campus Clean-up Event on the morning of Saturday, April, 8 AM to 11 AM.   All POPS, Pershing parents and Pershing kids are invited.  Please meet at the Pershing Office.  Pick-up tools and trash bags will be provided by the School. 

We will pick up trash to work up an appetite, and then have a BBQ at 11.  

If you can't come for the whole time, then feel free to stop by & help out for an hour.

Come and see how much fun it is to feel part of the community and help beautify your school!

Next POPS Meeting Thursday, January 17, 6:30 PM

Hello Pershing POPS and Interested Pershing Parents,

We're having a POPS meeting at the school library on Thursday at 6:30 PM!  Everyone is invited and please come out if you haven't done so yet.  

Agenda:

• We will go over logistics for the trash pickup event on Saturday
• We'll start planning for Enrichment Activities in 2013

Pershing Campus Clean-Up Saturday January 19, 8:00 AM!

The Pershing POPS will be involved in a Campus Clean-up Event on the morning of Saturday, January 19, 8 AM to 11 AM.   All POPS, Pershing parents and Pershing kids are invited.

• Please come out, help to beautify our Pershing Campus and enjoy the fellowship of other parents!   
• We will concentrate upon picking up trash on the campus and around the playing fields.   
• We'll have free coffee and hot chocolate to help you wake up and have more fun while making our Pershing Campus look cleaner and better.   
• We will meet at the Pershing Office. See you there!

Pershing Go-Kart Event December 8!

To All Pershing Families:

The next POPS social event is Go Karting!

• Where: Canyon Raceway (Off of Jennings Parkway in El Cajon, where Marshall Scotty's used to be)
  
• When:  Saturday, December 8,  3:30 - 6ish.  
• Who:    All are invited with your kids to ride the carts.  (Minimum age TBD)
• Price:   It will be $7 per ticket, $19 for a 3-pack and $50 for a 10-pack.  Each race lasts about 8 minutes.  
• How to get Tickets:  We will be selling them at school, or you can contact Jeff Ridgway at ridgwayjm@aol.com to pre-purchase.  Also, we will sell them at the Racetrack.
• Other Info:  We will have food for sale at the event!  Also, your tickets will be good any time (not just on December 8).
• Join us and have fun with the extended Pershing Community!

Campout Update

Camp-Out for POPS Saturday Nov. 3!

• Place: William Heise County Park, near Julian. (About a 70 minute drive)
• Time: Arrive in the afternoon of Nov. 3. We'll camp overnight.
• Who can come: any Pershing Parent + their family (but you must notify the POPS ASAP to reserve a site, before Oct. 25!)
• Accomodations: We have reserved tent-only sites in Area 3. 2 tents per site.
• Activities: TBD (come to the Meeting Oct. 25) HIKING will definitely be one activity!
• Food Arrangements: TBD. (We'll work these out at Meeting Oct. 25, 6:30 in Library)
• Cost: $15 per family if you're sharing a site. $29 per family if you have your own site. Food costs TBD.
• What if I want to attend but haven't notified Jeff Ridgway yet? Notify Jeff ASAP (ridgwayjm@aol.com), and we MAY be able to reserve you another site. But Hurry! Camp sites are running out.
• We have 10 families so far and are going to have a great time!
